Actor Christopher Plummer, who starred in "Somewhere in Time," continues to be active in films. (CLAUDETTE BARIUS/Warner Bros.)
QUESTION: Who was the other lead actor in "Somewhere in Time"?
ANSWER: That would be Christopher Plummer.
Born in 1929 in Toronto, Plummer continues to be very active in films, working in four that are now in preproduction and two others that came out this year, according to the movie database IMDB.com.
Plummer had substantial roles in serious TV dramas as far back as 1953, and began getting choice movie parts in the mid-1960s, including as Captain von Trapp in "The Sound of Music."
He has portrayed everything from royalty to rascal and even otherworldly (as General Chang in some "Star Trek" films). He was Squadron Leader Colin Harvey in "Battle of Britain" and Lord Foppington in "Lock Up Your Daughters!"
"Somewhere in Time" was filmed on Mackinac Island and opened in theaters Oct. 3, 1980, a Central Michigan University historical site says.
Starring Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour, the film is, as the CMU site puts it, about "a young writer who sacrifices his present life to find happiness and love in the past with a beautiful actress."
Each year, devotees gather at the Grand Hotel for a "Somewhere in Time" weekend. This year it's Oct. 27-28.
