"There!" Liesl nearly knocked Louisa back. The two practically ran over to a shop with a red roof. The shop was larger than the ones they had stoped at. Liesl stopped at the window. In it was a dress on display, hats, and shoes all nicley arranged. "Perfect" Liesl said as she smiled.
Before opening the door Liesl looked to her sister and sighed a happy sigh as if to say "I'm a genius."

Louisa was marvelled. It seemed that shop had been built directly from a dream.
"Wow, Liesl, you knew about this shop? How did you find out about it?"
Louisa was still staring at the glass window, focused on the shoes displayed there. They were of all sorts. Every colour and size, with or without heels, for any kind of situation.
The girl felt in love for one that was white and had heels. She wanted to buy that one, but wouldn't. For two reasons: she needed shoes for daily use, and those were definitely not for that purpose. And second: her Father would never approve.
Louisa seemed to be there, lost in her thoughts. She hadn't even entered the shop. All of sudden someone made her come back from her trance.

"Louisa stop breathing on the glass like that." Liesl pulled her back a bit. "Oh this? I knew this town would have one.." Liesl put her hands on her hips and stepped back to investigate it further "Salzburgs was a bit bigger however." She shrugged and they went inside. There were no bells on the door this time. Probably because they have so many customers come and go. Everything seemed to be organized, outer clothing and hats on one side, dresses in back, and shoes on the other. Liesl and Louisa stood there staring at everything. Louisa at the shoes and Liesl at the dresses. "I'll be with you two in a moment" said a man behind the counter. Liesl nodded while her sister was still looking. The store had some other workers in it, all in aprons, as proof. There was a door to the right of the shop marked "Private" where they kept extra stock. Liesl saw the door only because the knob was twisting. Louisa didn't notice since, they were on the other side of the store. Her sister seemed to be counting how many pairs they had. Liesl looked at the shoes too, diverting her attention from the door. Then, the door opened, Liesl heard it and turned. "Andreu' hurry it up" said the man behind the counter. A young man stepped out of the door. "I'm coming." He was tall, or at least taller than Liesl and had brown hair as far as she could tell. She stared at him, he was good looking. He was tying his apron and went to the counter so the man could speak to him. The man's words made him look over to Louisa and Liesl. Liesl's face turned red when he looked at her..she turned away. Louisa had stopped counting. Liesl pretended to have heard her all the while.

Louisa had caught a pair of shoes that she had liked. When she was going to show it to Liesl her jaw dropped. "How handsome that boy is!" she thought.
Her head turned to Liesl and she noticed she seemed to be thinking the same. Louisa had never seen her face turn that red.
The boy stared at Liesl, Liesl stared at him, and Louisa looked from one to another, still holding the shoes. She decided to act.
"Well, Andrew," she began.
Both looked at her as if they had just been aware of her presence. Louisa was annoyed and amused at the same time. "Isn't Andrew your name?" the girl asked.
The boy looked embarrassed. Liesl was still staring at him. "Yes, it is," he replied uneasy.
"Well, can you help me and my sister? We want to but some stuff," Louisa said, nudging Liesl.

Liesl somewhat covered her eyes with her hand and looked to the side. She had just let her little sister witness her own teenage desires. Liesl rubbed her face to make the redness go away. She turned back and joined the conversation, nodding proving Louisa's statement. "I see he said" Liesl looked at him again and made sure he didnt notice. He turned to her after she had nodded and looked at her. She saw him upclose, and noticed, his eyes were green, bright and beutifle they were. She tried so hard not to turn red again but Judging the look Louisa gave her, it failed.

Louisa was amazed at how the two reacted to each other. "Hey, what's happening?" she wondered. "Liesl seems to be burning inside. She can't even speak properly!" Louisa noticed that, beside having turning red yet again, her sister was also trembling. Liesl had never been like that!
"What do I do now?" Louisa didn't know if she'd better leave her sister alone with the boy. Then she concluded Liesl would be even more embarrassed if she did.
"Liesl, show him the dress you liked," Louisa said, trying to help.
Liesl turned to her. All Louisa could see was confusion.
"Well, let me choose my shoes first, then," the blonde girl thought. "Hum, can you show me some nice shoes?" she turned to Andrew.
"Hum- oh, yes, of course. What kind of shoes are you looking for?" the boy asked, looking at Louisa's feet. He seemed to be glad to have something else to divert his attention to.
"Shoes to use during the day. For school, it can be," Louisa replied.
"Alright, you may sit there," he said, point at a roll of chairs, where a young boy, accompanied by who Louisa deduced to be his Mother, tried some shoes on.
"Er, you can sit there too," Andrew said to Liesl, using all the braveness he could must.
The two blushed again, and Liesl sat close by Louisa while the boy went to look for Louisa's shoes.
"Why didn't you show him the dress, Liesl?"

Liesl watched him walk back to that "Private" room. She liked the way he walked. "hmm?" Liesl said a bit dazed. She saw Louisa looking at her impatiently "Oh the dress? Um I'll have to see which one I like-" Louisa was suprised actual words came out.
Liesl leaned foward and put her head on her hand. The last time she had ever felt this way was with-"oh that doesnt matter" she said to herself. Liesl realized she had better stop acting that way in front of Louisa.
"How old do you think he is?" Liesl asked looking at the young boy with his mother. Louisa must've been suprised she had said something not pertaining to the young man.

"What?"
Louisa hadn't really paid attention to the boy. Now Liesl had asked she turned to him and realized he must be around her age. She wasn't that handsome, but wasn't ugly at all.
"So he still needs to go shopping with his Mother?" she asked herself, feeling very adult. But then she thought of her poor brother, Friedrich. He was also doing shopping with one of his parents. As suddenly as this thought came to her mind, it went away.
When the boy realized Louisa had been looking at him, he felt embarrassed. So did Louisa. "Oh, I shouldn't have stared at him that way. What will he think?" the girl thought, diverting her attention back to her sister.
"How could I know, Liesl?"

Liesl shrugged. "I wonder how-" "Here are your shoes" Andrew said interrupting Liesl's sentence. This made her sit up straight. She stared at him again. Liesl stopped staring and looked over to Louisa, seeing if she noticed.

Of course Louisa had noticed. She said nothing, though.
"Ah, thanks," Louisa said while the boy kneeled down by her side and opened the first box.
"Oh!" Louisa exclaimed, taking the shoes from his hands. They were so delicate! White and with small heels. "So small that Father wouldn't even notice," she thought satisfied. It seemed she had fallen in love with those shoes. Maybe she wouldn't even need to see other pairs.
"Do you like?" Andrew asked glancing sideways at Liesl, who turned away.
"Yes, very much!" Louisa replied happy.
"Let me see if it fits you, then."
Louisa took off her current shoes and Andrew started to put the new ones on her feet. When he was finished both stood up.
"Take a walk around to see if they are comfortable," Andrew suggested.
"That's a good idea," Louisa said, making her way to the front door. And leaving her sister alone with the boy.

Liesl bit her lower lip and scratched her head. Andrew looked down toward his feet. "I-I'm Andrew." he said hesitantly. Liesl looked at him and smiled. "I know-" Andrew looked at her and waited "oh-um I'm Liesl." A smile flashed across his face. "How old are you?" His voice seemed to get braver, perhaps he was more comfortable speaking with her. "I'm seventeen. How old are you?" Andrew straightened up. "I just turned nineteen." "oh-" Liesl said. Two years wasnt so much of a gap.
Andrew had been on one knee so he could better speak with her. When Louisa returned he stood up.
"How are they?" he asked, looking at her shoes.

Louisa noticed he seemed more comfortable now. But Liesl didn't. Her face was red again.
"They are perfect!" she exclaimed, looking down at what would be her new shoes. "You couldn't have chosen better."
Andrew smiled at her, and she smiled back.
"What do you think, Liesl?" Louisa asked, turning to her sister.
No matter how much she had liked the shoes, Louisa still needed Liesl's approval.

Andrew's eyes were an odd green, she never saw green so bright before they--"They're nice" Liesl said absently mindedly not even looking to her sister's shoes. Louisa coughed and Liesl looked at her. "Yes- I like those Louisa."

"Alright. I'll take them!" Louisa said decisively.
"You won't even tale a look at the others?" Andrew asked.
"No, I like those."
"Alright. I'll take these boxes back to their place," the boy spoke, picking up the boxes he had brought earlier. "I'll be right back," he said.
"Okay. Meanwhile Liesl will choose her dress, won't you? Louisa asked looking at her sister.
Liesl nodded and kept observing as Andrew went back to that 'private' room.
"You know, Liesl, you could be more discret," Louisa said grinning.

Liesl eyes widened and she turned toward Louisa fast and angrily. She should have known her sister was smart enought to notice her actions.
She stood up. "well now about my dress" she said and made for the dresses. On the way Andrew came out and walked back toward Louisa to give her the shoes. Liesl had stoped walking and watched him all the way back. She noticed Louisa looking at her so she turned around and proceeded on.
