I'm (hopefully!) going to the Trapp Family Lodge!!

I've been wanting this for years and years, and it looks like it's going to finally happen either in late September or early October! I'm finally going to the Trapp Family Lodge in Vermont!!!! I WISH like anything that I had gotten into this interest I have (the movie and the real family) when Maria was still alive so it would have been possible to have met her, but she died in 1987, before I was such a serious fan. Anyway, as the planning progresses, I'm sure I'll be posting more, and then definitely a recap when I get back.

Okay, it's official! I made my reservations today! We'll be arriving at the Trapp Family Lodge on Friday, Sept. 24, and will leave on Monday, Sept. 27. I'm also trying to get tickets to see Elisabeth von Trapp (Werner's daughter) in concert in that same area that weekend.

I got quite a surprise when I called the lodge today! When I dialed their 1-800 number, a machine picked up and I heard "This is Johannes von Trapp. Dial 1 for reservations...." and then his voice went through the whole menu of different selections and ended with "and if all else fails, dial zero for the operator." It was SO funny! Very creative recording!

I am so exciting I am almost bouncing off the walls, and it's still over a month away! LOL! But it's for real!!!!!!!!

ROFL!!!! I love that line "green as Shrek"! Very appropriate! I'm sure I'll be posting more on this topic, hopefully some from the lodge since their rooms have Internet access!
